I have been with Dr. Long since 1995. My husband and I moved to Overland park from Des Moines, Iowa. We have two married daughters: one living in Dallas and Ft. Worth area and the other here in town.

I am here to help our patients with their needs regarding insurance, scheduling appointments, treatment plans and financial matters. I am also available to help in any other way to ensure our patients comfort and care.

In my time away from the office, I love reading. My husband, Ray, and I most enjoy anything that involves our four grandchildren! Vince is in the Navy, Lillian is a second-degree black belt in taekwondo, Haley is going to K-State and Libby is on the high school cheer squad as well as competitive cheer.

I am a firm believer in Dr. Long’s vision for his practice and his patients’ health and well-being. I enjoy being a part of his team and helping him accomplish that vision.

I began working for Dr. Long in October 2015. My recent job experience included working for a local optometrist for four years. Prior to that, I was a full-time mom and homemaker for over 20 years.

I have three adult children, who are all married and living in the Kansas City area. My oldest daughter has blessed me with four grandchildren, with whom I get to spend a lot of time with thanks to my two-day per week work schedule. I also enjoy traveling, entertaining, reading, playing golf and supporting our local sports teams.

Now that I’ve been part of Dr. Long’s team for nearly four years, I feel like I’ve gotten to know many of our wonderful patients. I look forward to many more years helping patients with their scheduling, insurance and account, as well as any other need that may arise.

I have been working chairside with Dr. Long since 2000. I attended Kansas City College of Medical and Dental Careers. I have seen many changes in the last 35 years in the dental industry. I find it exciting and interesting to work with the technology that Dr. Long uses in his practice, especially the latest iTero® scanner. I have attended many continuing education courses with Dr. Long on the latest technology and Invisalign®.

My previous job experience includes working at the University of Kansas Medical Center in pediatric dentistry, where I assisted in the OR on reconstructive dental surgery. There, I worked with with facial rehabilitation, cleft lip and palate, heart transplants, chemotherapy and severely handicapped patients. Besides working for a prosthodontist and maxillofacial surgeon at Trinity Lutheran Hospital making prosthetic prosthesis and implants. I was also responsible for supervising and running the Kansas City free health clinic part-time for many years.

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my seven grandchildren who are involved in many activities, such as baseball, band and chess to name a few.

I received my dental hygiene degree from Johnson County Community College. In 1992, I started working for Dr. Long. I, along with Dr. Long, have always made our patients’ dental health a priority. I especially like working to restore the health of patients with periodontal disease and providing patient education. I love having the opportunity to use the latest in technology and equipment that makes dentistry so exciting.

In my spare time, I enjoy working outdoors with my flowers and love anything to do with quilting.

I became a member of Dr. Long’s dental team in 2007. I graduated from UMKC dental hygiene school in 1967 and have loved every minute of my career in the hygiene profession. I have served as president of UMKC Hygiene Alumni Association and as secretary of the Kansas Dental Hygiene Association.

I look forward to any time I can spend with my grandchildren. I enjoy traveling the United States with my husband, Tom, to visit friends and see the wonders that make up our beautiful country.
